About me…where to start? I was born and raised in Alabama (Roll Tide)! I tried college, the navy and a few other ventures. Nothing worked for me, I was in and out of trouble. I moved to Houston to get a fresh start. The thing about a fresh start is both you and your environment need to change and I hadn’t. I brought all of my baggage with me everywhere I went. It wasn‘t until I was tired of being tired that I looked for help. I found a therapist which was taboo where I’m from. It was a tough journey; I had to admit and face my childhood trauma. I began to understand my constant anger, impulsive behavior, extreme sadness and inability to trust. Having a therapist changed my life. I am a walking example that overcoming trauma can lead to a fulfilling and happy life. I sought to help others like me.
I obtained my BS in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. I completed my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a mother of two boys and a wife. I enjoy books, movies and music. Don’t ask anyone about my karaoke singing, no one would agree but I sound amazing.
